Queens Building – Administrative hub and outpatients’ facility

Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Value: £1m
Completion: 2022

Project Description:

T.A.D. were appointed by the Contractor, Tilbury Douglas, who had been commissioned by the Trust to deliver this scheme via a framework on a design and build basis.
The scheme was part of a rationalisation of their estate to reduce costs through a reduction in the number of offices bases they maintain across the county. The Queens building is located in the heart of Worksop, providing facilities for a number of local authority and blue light services. The Trust were taking over nearly an entire floor, split into two separate wings. In the first wing the scope was to provide a modern office environment with a mix of cellular offices and open plan hot desking facilities. In the second wing the Trust were providing a new outpatients clinical facility for the community. This required the provision of a range of Consulting Rooms, Examinations Room, Group Rooms and associated facilities.
Whilst being delivered via a design and build procurement route, T.A.D. were appointed from the outset to develop the brief through a Room Layout and Room Data Sheet exercise with the clinical and administrative teams that culminated in a signed off brief from which the design team could developed the technical design.
Working closely with the contractor we developed a fully detailed technical package to enable accurate costing and a quick start on site.
